COVID-19 Memory Archive Project

Welcome to the COVID-19 Memory Archive Project, an initiative from the Thomas A. Edge Archives & Special Collections at Athabasca University. We are asking for our community’s help to create an archive of our individual and shared experiences during the 2019 novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.

We want to encourage all Athabasca University students, staff, and alumni, and the residents of the Town and County of Athabasca, to take the time to share your story with us. We want to know how COVID-19 has impacted your work and studies at Athabasca University, and how it has impacted your family, your friends, your business, your community, and all other areas of your life.

Share Your Story to the COVID-19 Memory Archive Project and WIN!

Example of a submission:

Working from home means being able to document your dog’s traversal of the house in pursuit of sunbeams!

Submit an item or fill out the survey by NOVEMBER 30, 2020 and you can WIN 1 of 200 available packs of playing cards featuring historic photographs of Athabasca University!

We are looking for a diverse set of voices to submit materials that they have created, that speak to them, or that reflect their experience during this time.

Types of possible submissions include:

  • Photographs
  • Artwork
  • Audio or video recordings
  • Blog posts or journal entries
  • Poetry, essays, or short stories
  • Screenshots, memes, or gifs
  • Oral histories
  • Social media posts

Submission of Materials

Please submit materials to the COVID-19 Archive by using this form. If two or more people contributed to a submission, please include everyone on the form.

You can also participate by taking a few minutes to fill out our COVID-19 Experience Survey.

By filling out the forms, you will be accepting our Terms and Conditions.

Submissions will take some time to preserve and make available by Thomas A. Edge Archives & Special Collections staff. In the meantime, please email archives@athabascau.ca if you have any questions or comments about this project.

Thank you for contributing to this important project.
