A key focus of Athabasca University’s art collection is landscapes that speak of life on the prairies and in the mountains and woodlands of Alberta; another focus is First Nations art. This project explores themes of place and identity and the artist’s response to space and relationship to it.
We interview visual artists whose work has made an impact on the Alberta art scene and whose work we are fortunate to have in our collection. The artists speak about what they do, how and why they do it. The interviews form part of our permanent online exhibit and are available to students, teachers and researchers for the advancement of knowledge of art, artists and Alberta.
